IBSES Digital Governance Platform

The IBSES Digital Governance Platform was designed and developed to support the International Board of Shoulder and Elbow Societies (IBSES) in its role as an international governing body for shoulder and elbow surgery. We designed the platform around IBSES’s governance responsibilities, institutional structure, historical records, and need for secure collaboration among board members, delegates, and affiliated societies.

Through an extensive discovery and requirements process, we translated those needs into the platform’s functional and technical architecture, defining its information architecture, content models, user roles and permissions, governance records, ICSES history, leadership and society directories, and workflows for applications to host future International Congresses of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (ICSES).

Built on WordPress, the IBSES Digital Governance Platform combines public institutional content with authenticated board and delegate areas, structured governance records, controlled user management, and purpose-built submission workflows. The result is a centralized, extensible digital foundation for preserving institutional history, managing governance information and access, and supporting IBSES’s organizational continuity over time.
